Frequently Asked Questions
What are your services like?
Our principle worship services are liturgical in style. This simply means that we follow a set pattern for our worship. Our services are taken from the Book of Common Prayer which is provided in each pew. These services are ancient in their source and draw their structure from the earliest Christians.
What should I wear?
The style of dress at St. Paul’s spans from jeans and a nice shirt to more formal attire.
Who can take communion and how?
All those who have been baptized as a part of a Christian church may join us in receiving Holy Communion. If, for whatever reason, you are unable or unwilling to receive this gift you may still come forward for a blessing.
You may receive the bread and the wine in two ways:
- Intinction: You may dip the bread into the cup of wine, then consume it.
- You may drink from the chalice directly.
If you do not wish to receive communion, but wish to receive a blessing instead, cross your arms over your chest and the priest will pray a blessing over you.
Do you have childcare available during services times?
Children are welcome in all our services but we also recognize that a nursery can be a great help to parents. Our nursery is available during our Sunday morning services and our Wednesday evening service for children up to kindergarten. Visit our nursery page to learn more.
